This wasthe first seat of the more ancient parish of San Michele.
It was built on theplace of a previous church which, as Bishop Nores tells during his visit(1584), had five altars; the main one was dedicated to San Giorgio, then theothers to Sant’Urbano, to the Virgin Mary, San Valentino and Sant’Antonio andSan Rocco.
The present building is characterized by neoclassical motifs, whichwere very fashionable between 18th and 19th centuries. It was consecrated on8th November 1857 by the Bishop of Concordia Andrea Casasola. The bell tower,50 metres high, was built in 1908 according to the project of the engineerAntonio Dal Pra from Portogruaro and was inaugurated on 16th August of thefollowing year.
